VectorEFB uses no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and shares nothing with third parties for marketing. That is why you are not asked to accept cookies: the ePrivacy rules require consent for storage that is not strictly necessary, and everything here is either strictly necessary or something you asked for.
What is stored on your device
- A session cookie, only if you sign in to an account. It keeps you signed in, holds a random token and nothing else, and is removed when you sign out. Strictly necessary.
- Local storage in your browser for the things that make the app work: routes and waypoints, notes, units and display settings, synthetic vision options, your aircraft, and a flight being recorded or waiting to be uploaded. It also remembers that this device has an account and who was signed in, so the app still works with no signal. With an account, routes, waypoints and aircraft are copied to it; the rest stays on the device.
- A service worker, which is what lets the app open and record a flight with no signal. If you turn notifications on it also receives them and shows them.
- A cache of map tiles, terrain and briefings you downloaded for offline use, so the app works without a signal. You choose when to download it.
Clearing it
Settings has an "Erase local data" button that removes everything the app has stored in your browser, and clearing your browser site data does the same. If you have a school account, that removes local data only: ask for account deletion separately.
